Here it goes:

I have dated my boyfriend for 3years now and we are finally getting married, but my only concern is that he is asking me to contribute 50 - 50 to the wedding.

I contribute to buying my engagement ring which he proposed with because he said he did not have enough money to buy me the ring I deserve. Now we have fixed date for the wedding and he is asking me to buy my wedding dresses for women over 50 wedding dress , while he buys his suit.

I pay for the food and drinks while he pays for the hall. I pay for cake and deco while he pays for the music and dj...this is how he shared it as if it is food.

I told him, it is not right but he said what is my salary meant for. I am not comfortable with it at all but is this enough to call off the wedding?

My mum says he is not ready to marry but my dad said I can help him. My point is not the help but the fact that he sees it as his right.

I have spoken to him about this but he has tagged me a nag and inconsiderate self-centered woman .

Do you all think I should continue? I might end up paying my kids schools fees in future while he pays the rent.

Should a woman contribute 50 - 50 to the wedding?
